About Us
Abundance Community Advisors is a public sector consulting practice partnering with local, city, county, and regional governments to navigate complex public decisions—from strategic direction through implementation. Led by a former senior local government executive, the firm works alongside public-sector leaders on housing, land use, governance, and regional challenges where the stakes are high, the politics are real, and follow-through matters.

Grounded in more than 20 years of senior public-sector leadership, our work focuses on strengthening the systems that turn public decisions into durable outcomes that hold through leadership changes, political pressure, and implementation challenges. We help communities advance governance, land use, housing, funding, and collaborative frameworks in ways that reflect local values while navigating real-world social, economic, fiscal, and political constraints.
We are most often engaged when communities need experienced, steady leadership to move difficult work forward. Our engagements range from targeted advisory support on a single initiative to multi-year partnerships supporting regional or system-wide implementation.
Our work is grounded in direct experience leading complex public initiatives from concept through implementation. We draw on tested, real-world approaches shaped by years inside local government—not abstract models—to ensure strategies are realistic, defensible, and executable. Our experience includes developing hundreds of units of affordable housing; creating and sustaining cross-sector coalitions with dedicated funding; modernizing land use and regulatory systems; and advancing complex and sometimes controversial policies through thoughtful engagement and governance. We bring a clear point of view shaped by experience—about what works, what doesn’t, and what tradeoffs leaders will ultimately have to face—to help communities translate vision and policy into action.
When We’re Most Helpful
We are often brought in when:
- A plan or policy has been adopted, but implementation is stalling
- Housing goals are clear, but entitlement, regulation, funding, or coordination are barriers
- Multiple jurisdictions or agencies need to align around a shared regional challenge
- Boards, commissions, or stakeholders are divided and decisions are difficult to move forward
- Staff are stretched thin and need experienced, hands-on support to advance complex initiatives
In these moments, we help clarify options, navigate tradeoffs, align partners, and move work forward in ways that build momentum, confidence, and trust across organizations and with the public.
