Project Snapshots

Abundance Community Advisors brings deep, practical experience advancing complex public initiatives from early decision-making through implementation. Our work is shaped by more than two decades of senior leadership inside local government and hands-on responsibility for delivering results in real political, fiscal, and organizational environments.

The examples below illustrate the type, scale, and complexity of work Abundance Community Advisors supports across a range of public-sector contexts. They are intentionally representative rather than exhaustive and reflect senior-level responsibility in politically complex environments.

Regional Collaboration and Strategy

Led development and implementation of a multi-jurisdictional regional strategy addressing housing, economic resilience, community health and equity, and sustainable tourism across multiple communities and agencies. Work included shaping shared priorities, establishing coalition governance, aligning partners with differing authorities and interests, and securing dedicated funding to support implementation beyond initial plan adoption in politically complex regional environments.

Publicly Led Housing Delivery

Provided senior leadership for the delivery of large-scale, publicly owned workforce housing initiatives, guiding projects from early policy direction and strategy through entitlement, outreach, intergovernmental approvals, and implementation. The work required navigating intense public scrutiny, political tradeoffs, and coordination across jurisdictions to move projects from concept to construction.

Governance and Board Decision Support

Advised elected officials, boards, and commissions facing complex and often contentious policy and land use decisions, including issues related to growth, housing, and regional coordination. Supported leaders in clarifying options and consequences, navigating political dynamics and public expectations, and reaching defensible decisions under intense public scrutiny that could be implemented and sustained.

Public Lands and Natural Resources Stewardship

Provided senior leadership for public lands and natural resource initiatives at the intersection of stewardship, recreation, and local economies. This work included convening and supporting diverse stakeholder groups; establishing clear governance, norms, and decision-making processes; and maintaining a consistent, respectful tone across complex and often contentious discussions. The focus was on aligning conservation, access, and economic considerations; supporting durable partnerships across agencies and interest groups; and creating the conditions for long-term collaboration and trust.

This approach helped groups move from debate to durable direction by bringing logic, rationale, and steady leadership to complex conversations.

System and Process Improvement

Supported modernization of land use and decision-making systems to improve clarity, consistency, and defensibility, while maintaining alignment with community values and adopted policy direction. This work focused on clarifying who decides what, when, and based on which criteria; improving how decisions move from boards and commissions into staff action; and establishing clearer roles, processes, and expectations so outcomes could withstand leadership transitions, political pressure, and implementation challenges

Our experience allows us to:

  • Anticipate implementation challenges before decisions are finalized
  • Provide candid, senior-level guidance grounded in real-world constraints
  • Help leaders navigate political pressure while maintaining focus on outcomes
  • Stay engaged through delivery—not just analysis or recommendations

We bring judgment, perspective, and steady leadership to moments when public decisions matter most.
